Erwin, my husband, had a heart attack several weeks ago, despite having normal weight, blood pressure and cholesterol, taking lots of excursive, eating a sensible diet, meditating and not smoking.

At the physical level this was caused by a blood clot in one of the arteries leading to the heart. At the emotional and mental level he is still trying to work out why it happened lie is a firm believer in creating his own reality.

During his time in hospital, I suggested that when he came home, we might do some Time Line work together to clear possible repressed emotions, which I thought may have cause the attack. But he was not keen because he does not believe that he has nay repressed emotions!

However when I visited a couple of days later, Erwin told me that during the night lie had floated above NOW to have a look at his Time Line. He was curious to see what it would look like. ( I elected his time line months ago in practice. He was a classic In Time person and all of the Line was golden.)

First he looked at NOW, this was a big grey boot, made of some soft material. The future Time Line came out of the toe of the boot and it was black and shiny. He could see a dim glow at the far end of his future Time Line.

Then Erwin turned and looked at the past. All he could see was broken dull bits of Time Line, as though it had been de-railed and broken up. Remaining above NOW he could not see any Line earlier than the broken bits He dropped back into NOW and blithely went to sleep.

He told me about this the next day and I was silently rather dismayed. This did not seem to me to be a healthy Time Line. I wanted to help him to heal it, but without interfering with his choices. So I suggested that he might like to go back to that evening and see what would happen if he repaired that broken past Time Line. He agreed and the next day he told me what happened.

Erwin floated above now and looked down at the grey boot. He decided that he didn’t want it there. So he thanked the boot for the good work that it had done so far and proceeded to bury it at the side of the Time Line. From somewhere he conjured up a spade and some sand in which to bury the boot. He was totally associated in this experience.

Then he turned his attention to the broken bits of past Time Line. He decided to bury those too, to one side. He worked along the Line from NOW, burying the bits, and when he came to the ends of the broken bits, he discovered earlier unbroken golden Time Line.

When the burial was complete, his time line now consisted of past golden Line and future black Line with nothing in between. So Erwin conjured up a reel of golden pipe (rather like the plastic water mains now laid by the water authorities) re-laid his past Time Line from the end of the golden part right up to the future black part.

As he made his final join to the black future Line, the whole future Time Line changed to a bright golden colour! The glow at the end of his future Time Line intensified and became the light. So now his whole Time Line is golden and unbroken. I small bubble in the Time Line represents NOW.

I think that Erwin was rather relieved at the results of his work and also rather pleased that he had accomplished this by himself. I was very pleased indeed to find that his future was not golden.

So what really happened as Erwin did this work on his Time Line? What was the significant of the boot? Was it a safety boot? (Most of his working life has been in the oil industry constructing pipelines and platforms). Probably only Erwin can work out the symbolism. Anyone else would just be guessing.

However, I believe that the broken bits of past Time Line represents the period (probably only minutes or hours) When the attack was actually happening. During this time there was pain, disorientation, fear and shock because Erwin did not know what was happening to him.

I also believe that when he re-laid the new piece of past Time Line, the fact that his future then became golden indicated that all the trauma was gone.

I offer you this example because it is a perfect example of self healing about an individual who knew about his own Time Line but very little else about Time Line Therapy ® techniques. Erwins story also made me realize that I must be careful about judging other peoples symbols. (Burying initially sounded like suppressing to me) What works for them is just perfect.
